Community history
Pervomaisk - a city of regional subordination, the district center. Located in the northeast of the Nikolayev region, 180 km from the city of Nikolayev. Within the city - the city park and the Petrovsky Park Komsomolsk - memorials of landscape art. In Pervomaisk - two architectural monument - Church of the Intercession on Bogopole (1806) and House of Culture (1928). All in all, a city of more than 60 monuments, plaques and memorials in honor of various historical events and personalities.
On the proposal of Count Potemkin on January 22, 1784 in the Olviopolsky county of Yekaterinoslav region was formed. With the establishment of the province of the Ascension in 1795 Olviopol receives the status of supernumerary and part of the county Novomirgorod, but next year he again gets the status of a district of the city formed Novorossiysk province.Since Olviopol was constantly county town until January 1, 1835, when county offices were moved to Ananiev.
In 1923, Pervomaisk become the regional center of Odessa Province. By the end of 1925, there operated a brick, leather, soap and brewery. A diesel power plant worked there, which served 450 subscribers.
Nazi attack interrupted the peaceful life of citizens. In Pervomaisk since July 9, 1941 head quarters of the Southern Front was located. Despite the resistance of the Soviet troops on August 3, 1941, German troops occupied the city.
In February 1954 Pervomaysk joined the Nikolayev region. In the second half of XX century Pervomaisk is becoming a major industrial center, which main industries are machine building, light industry, food processing industry.
