Rabbi of Khmelnitsky Alexander Faingold
Reb Aleksander Faingold was born in Ukraine in Zhitomir where he studied in school and college. Higher education was obtained in Moscow in Moscow Institute of Forestry. There in Moscow he met his first spiritual mentor – one of the first shluchim to Ukraine – rabbi Smuel Plotkin who was sent to Berdichev and Zhitomir personally by the Lyubavitch Rebe.
This meeting and further acquaintance with rabbi Plotkin had a tremendous impact on his life.
1990 – 1995 reb Aleksander was leading the Jewish religious community of Zhitomir.
1995 – 2001 he continued his religious education in Israel and then received an invitation from rabbi Moshe Asman to work in Kiyev.
The 10 last years reb Aleksander worked in the Kiyev synagogue of Brodskiy where he was responsible for the operation of Smalland medium-sizedJewish communities of Central and Western regions of Ukraine.
Reb Aleksander is married and has 4 children. The older son Ilyaisin flight troopsof the IDF, the second son Daniel went toflight school this year. Rebe’s wife Leahand daughtersPearlandMusyalivewith the headof the familyinKhmelnitsky andhelpfulfillthe sacredmission ofthe Lubavitcher Rebbeschlich.
