According to tradition many boys begin their education in cheders - the educational establishments for the youngest ones. Learning begins from 4, 5 or even 6 years old. Some boys from primary schoollearn in cheder in the morning and then in school in the second part of day. In cheders are many experienced teachers from Israel and Ukraine.
The Jewish kindergarten of Odessa is the oldest kindergarten of the Southern Ukraine. Education and teaching begin here from 9 month from birth. The Jewish kindergartens are situated in the largest living regions of Odessa to eliminate long journeys to kindergartens.
