First “Jewish heritage and modernity” conference has started its work

Two-day “Jewish heritage and modernity” theoretical and practical conference has started its work at the “Menorah” Center. It was organized by “Beit Chana” International Humanitarian Pedagogical Institute, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MoES), Institute of Pedagogics of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (NAPS), Institute of Improvement of Education’s Content of MoES of Ukraine and "Tkuma" Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies. Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine is a sponsor of the Conference. 

Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and region, has greeted all participants of the conference at its opening. He has emphasized importance of education and its role in the Jewish history and traditions, as well as has expressed gratitude to “Beit Chana” for its invaluable contribution to retaining of the Jewish heritage.

Repreentatives of “Beit Chana” management, MoES and NAPS have made speeches at the conference’s opening as well.

The following information is mentioned at www.tkuma.dp.ua website:
“The aims of the conference are:
1) discussion of new scholarly and practical results within various areas of Jewish Studies;
2) exchange of information and discussions on topical issues of the educational process, teaching methodology and work with gifted youth in Jewish educational institutions;
3) involvement of school students, graduate students into research activities in the field of Jewish Studies.”
