Grand opening of large office of JMC (Jewish Medical Center) has taken place at the “Menorah” Center. It is a modern, multi-functional clinic fundamentally new for Ukraine's level and approach to the provision of medical services. Members of the Board of Trustees of the Community, leaders and activists of the Jewish revival, honorable guests from different countries of the world, patrons and philanthropists were invited to attend this grand opening.
People, mentioned below, were invited to cut the red ribbon at the main entrance of the spacious two-storeyed Center: Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and region; Gennady Soroka, member of the Board of Trustees of our Community; Aleksandr Petrovsky, President of “Solidarnost’ ” (“Solidarity”) International Charity Fund; Betsy Hecker, Chair of DKP Committee; Yoni Leifer, representative of American Jewish “Joint” Distribution Committee in Eastern Ukraine. Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and region, has attached the mezuzah at the main entrance of the Medical Center. All present have answered “Amen” after hearing a blessing.
Afterwards a ceremony of memorial plaques’ opening was held in a hall of the Medical Center. They were placed there as a sign of appreciation to those patrons whose donations made possible appearance of this Clinic.
All those present had an interesting tour on the Medical Center during which they had a chance to learn more about it, its’ advantages and lines of work. The guests have communicated with doctors and staff of the Center, have examined ultramodern medical equipment and have noted a very thought-out approach in all details, including helping physically disabled people to receive necessary medical care, which will be provided by JMC.
