In 355 BC Aman - the supreme official of the court of the king Ahasuerus made adoption of the Decree on the complete extermination of all Jews in the empire. The efforts of the spiritual leader of the Jews of Mordecai and his niece Esther, which, keeping secret his origins, became the wife of the king, Haman's plans were thwarted, and he was killed along with other enemies of the Jews. Day, designed to destroy the Jews, became a day of victory and celebrated as a fun holiday.
