The new Tishrey booklet has been published recently by the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine.
The booklet contains comprehensive information about the coming month holidays: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah.
Each section of the booklet is dedicated to the certain holiday and begins traditionally with a passage from the writings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, in which he gives some introduction and instructions concerning holidays. The passages also highlight the holidays features.
The Tishrey holidays are the culmination of the year. These are the days in which our main aspirations are directed toward the fullness of spiritual life, but this direction affects the material prosperity and physical health as well – G-d blesses the upcoming year.
A Jewish New Year calendars edition was published recent days as well by the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine.
This year the series of calendars is a set of four types of calendars: wall flip, poster calendar, pocket and table flip. The theme of the series is the 12 tribes of Israel. Each month corresponds to one of the tribes and has illustrations of the tribal coats of arms and the map of the ancient Eretz Israel with the lands of each tribe shown on it.
Traditionally, calendars combine the Gregorian and Jewish calendars. They contain all the Jewish holidays dates, significant Jewish dates (new year of Hasidism, the 200-th anniversary of the death of Alter Rebbe, the Rebbe's birthday, etc.) and every Sabbath indicates the relevant Torah chapter so that its light be in every Jewish home.
