Winter came and the lightest holiday – Chanukah –  “is knocking” at our doors. It is a holiday which warms us on these December days with its warmth, it brings light of goodness and sincerity, loyalty and belief, coziness and fun into our hearts all next year. And it is so pleasant to meet friends these days!

On December 27th 2011 in Mariupol Jewish community there was a celebratory Chanukah session of the Nahes women's club which has become a final link in a number of Chanukah activities this year.

Chanukah women’s meeting has passed under the motto "Switch on Chanukah light in your house".

The mistress of the club Rebetsen Ester Cohen met all the visitors with a kind and friendly smile. The guests settled cozily at small tables, easy conversation was going on, jokes and laughter sounded in the room. Rabbi Mendel Cohen congratulated all the visitors with the holiday and wished kindness and light to each Jewish family and house. And then Chanukia was lit up and the party  began. the guests got bucked up when the leaders suggested participating in competitions. Every woman showed interest, surprise and passion!

The leader of the party Olga Mitrofanova also told everyone an interesting story about the role of the Jewish woman in family and house; she also presented a slide show "Woman is a heart of the house."

Talking and participating in competitions, the time passed very quickly. All the visitors took the warmth and coziness of Chanukah to their houses with the kindness and care of its organizers. This party reminded us once again that «nothing is more sacred in the world» than the warmth of Chanukah candles.
