The 27th Chabad Schluchim World Congress.

Yesterday in Brooklyn the 27th World Congress of Chabad Schluchim has finished which brought together over 4,000 participants of the Shluchim project from all corners of our planet. The motto of the Congress was "The Messenger is a call".

The members of the main project of the Jewish people -  Messengers of the Rebbe Five days were spent together sharing experiences gained over the years with friends and colleagues, talking about their problems and successes, discussing current issues and outlining effective ways of further development.

The first days of the congress were intensive workshops, master classes and lectures on many topics troubling envoys in their daily work.

In preparation for the congress organizers invited the envoys to choose the topics to be discussed so that discussions were very lively.

The Sabbath day was spent in prayers, companionship and a short rest.

After the final Sabbath meal the central meeting was held under the slogan "Hasidism - 24 hours a day" devoted to selfless Schluchim of Chabad, the leading current in Judaism.

On Sunday evening the traditional banquet was arranged - the culminating event of the Congress.
More than 4,000 messengers and about 1,000 invited guests gathered in a huge colorfully decorated hangar at the port of Brooklyn, to show the world the unity of goals and aspirations in the welfare of the Jewish people and boundless devotion to each Chabad member precepts and teachings of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

When the Schluchim project Elder Rabbi Mordechai Altayn read the blessed prayer the evening host and the Head of the Schluchim project Rabbi Moshe Kotlyarskii introduced the Chabad Schluchim in different countries and the major sponsors of their activities.

The honored guest, the Britain's Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks delivered to the central speech in which he talked about his memorable encounters with the Rebe.

He noted with sincere admiration that each of the Chabad Schluchim bears the burden of their obligations selflessly and is in the service of Hasidism 24 hours a day.

"The Messenger of the Rebe is always mindful of his mission - on the road and during meals and when he's asleep” - concluded Jonathan Sacks under thunderous applause.

On Monday the last meeting of the 27th Congress took place and its energized and motivated members returned to daily activities in their places.
