The Beis Stern Shulman synagogue of Krivoy Rog has been visited by a guest from Odessa - a member of the National Union of Photographers of Ukraine, winner of various competitions, the famous photographer Boris Buchman with his friends.
Boris began his acquaintance with the city from a visit to the synagogue.
Here the guests were met by the Ohr Avner Charity Fund director Tatiana Kutz and escorted them to the Michael Marmer City Museum of Culture And History of The Jewish People. The museum's director Svetlana Poddubnaya acquainted the guests with the history of the museum and its numerous exhibits. Carefully listening to the story of Svetlana Ivanovna, the guests were happy to share their knowledge and new experiences. Considering the large silver Hanukkah, Boris Buchman gleefully said: “Hanukkah is the favorite holiday of my childhood. I remember when I used to go to my grandmother and she was giving me Chanukah Gelt”.
When the course came to the exhibition illustrating the history of the Holocaust there was not necessary to talk about it in detail. "I had heard these stories from my great-grandmother and grandmother. They went through the ghetto", - Boris Buchman said.
Thanking the Director of the Museum for the interesting tour the guests visited the gallery where they discussed the prospects of further cooperation. In a short time the Beis Stern Shulman synagogue will receive an exhibition of Boris Buchmann named "Israel. The first date" which was already exhibited in Odessa and Kharkov.
The acquaintance with the synagogue was finished with a visit to the prayer hall where some pictures with the guest were taken.
