As already established good tradition, the Jewish community of Krivoy Rog has been visited by the World Jewish Relief (WJR) delegation headed by the Executive Director Paul Antikoni.
Founded in 1933, the organization is the global mission of the Jewish community of Great Britain. It functions in over thirty countries around the world. The main activities of the fund aim to assist and support people of all ages, especially children and the elderly - those who need care, attention, and medications most.
During the visit the guests visited the Specialized School with in-depth study of foreign languages and the pre-school educational institution.
Here the chief rabbi of the city Liron Edery, a member of the Board of Trustees of the community Vladislav Itskovsky, director of the Jewish school Svetlana Skripchuk and director of the Ohr Avner Foundation Tatiana Kutz greeted the delegation with welcoming words.
Paul Antikoni spoke on behalf of the World Jewish Relief. After breakfast guests had a tour about the construction sites of the community - sports hall and kindergarten which opening is scheduled in the nearest future.
Then the delegation visited the Beis Stern Shulman synagogue. Having been in the prayer hall and on the balcony of the synagogue, the WJR representatives visited the Jewish City Museum of Mikhail Marmer. The founder of the museum, a member of the Board of Trustees Michael Marmer greeted them in the museum. He thanked the guests for the assistance they have given to the Jews who live in Krivoy Rog and Ukraine. After that the museum's director Svetlana Poddubnaya took the delegation to the tour about the museum.
