The "My letter in the Torah"certificates delivery turned into a large, noisy celebration. Children of the most remote corners of the Lugansk region attended the event. The Lubavitcher Rebbe wants every Jewish child to buy a letter in the Torah.Each of the letters is a part of the code on which G-d builds the world.These letters are bound to the souls of Jews.And the fact that children received their letters on the eve of Rosh-ha-Shanah makes it more symbolic.
On the event much attention has been given to the letters.Children sang songs about the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, wrote the letters with a real Soifer pen and even baked the letters. Children and adults learned many interesting things about the Soifer work from the movie "How the Torah scrolls are written".Parents, grandparents and guests of the community thanked the Chief Rabbi of the Lugansk region Shalom Gopin that he organizes this program.
"In our small towns we often experience a lack of information on Judaism.Not always have we the opportunity to come to Lugansk as well.But the events like this bring all Jews together" – guests commented.Every boy and girl who now has a letter in the book of life knows that the Torah helps, saves, brings blessings into their lives.
