On May 26th the administration and the students of the Bet-Chana Women Teacher Training College of Dnepropetrovsk had meeting with the Knesset of Israel, the Chairman of the Committee for Education, Culture and Sport Mr. Alex Miller. The guest visited the Beit-Baruch House for aged people and the Ohr Avner Chabad-Lyubavitch Jewish school number 144. In the evening of the day Mr. Miller dedicated to the Bet-Chana Women Teacher Training College and attended the students hostel.
The President of the college rav Meyer Stambler told Mr. Miller about the perspectives of Bet-Chana and the plans of construction of the new modern campus. The director of the college Stanislav Sapozhnikov, rav Moishe Weber and the Deputy of director for Education Victoria Pin’kas told about the educational programs of the college. They spoke of the perspectives of increasing of number of specialties and the process of Jewish education. Reuven and Rachel Millman were noted to do a great job as to Jewish traditions education in the college. They were also present at the meeting.
The culmination of the evening meeting was the discussion between Mr. Miller and the students. The students were interested in problems of the system of education of Israel, its peculiarities, financing of the Israel higher education establishments and studying in them, peculiarities of the Jewish education in different countries. Of special interest were the questions of acknowledgement of the Bet-Chana diplomas in Israel, possibilities of employment in Israel and further studying in the Israel institutes and universities. Mr. Miller answered all questions.
In the end of the meeting and to express the gratitude for attention the students presented to the guest some presents – a picture painted by the students and a disc of Jewish songs sang by the women choir of Bet-Chana.
