War in Ukraine: five different stories from witnesses who escaped the war - tears and hope of evacuation.

Понедельник, 12. Сентябрь, 2022 - 9:23

The war became the worst terrible test in the history of young country Ukraine. According to the United Nations Refugee Agency, after full-scale military Russian invasion, more than 6.8 million Ukrainians left their homes and found shelter in Europe; 3.9 million people received temporary protection status.

Margarita Ormotsadze is a refugee who left Kyiv after Russian bombs exploded not far from her home near the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust "Babi Yar". Since March, Margarita has been working as volunteer in camps for refugees from Ukraine - first in Budapest, then in Warsaw, and now at Lake Balaton. She collected several stories from volunteers from the refugee camps and the call centers who helped evacuate people from Mariupol, Severodonetsk, Kharkiv and other heavily shelled cities.
