Facing a war crisis, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine decided to print the book "Taniya" in the very heart of Ukraine - Kyiv, on Independence Square.
We are sure, you will find this book to be an endless source of inspiration and wisdom and a huge support for our Army and the hole country in challenging times.
The official meeting was attended by Volodymyr Klitschko (brother of Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko), Chairman of the Board of
FJCU - Rabbi Mayer Stambler, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the FJCU - Rabbi Rafael Rutman, Rabbi Mordechai Levenharts and Rabbi Simcha Levenharts.
Volodymyr Klitschko noted that it is no coincidence that we are now preparing for the holiday of Shavuot - the holiday of the giving of the Torah at this challenging times.
Two out of 10 commandments are "Do not steal", "Do not kill." Unfortunately, that is exactly what Russian army is doing. In this solemn moment, we demand "- Stop breaking the laws of G-d."
Volodymyr Klitschko expressed gratitude on behalf of the mayor of Kyiv to the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine for constant help and support, which FJCU provides to everyone in need. Thanked the rabbis who remained in Ukraine in order to provide material and spiritual support to people.
Mr. Klitschko noted that in the battle for justice, the truth belongs to the people of Ukraine - and the people of Ukraine will definitely win, as it is written in the Holy Books. He promised to study the book "Tania", which reveals the inner part of the Torah, and the wished Jewish people a happy Shavuot.
Chairman of the Board of FJCU - Rabbi Mayer Stambler, noted that Kyiv is the right place, and now is the right time to print the book "Tania".
"- Unfortunately, now we see that Ukrainian people are fighting bravely not only for their independence, this is not just a matter of Ukraine's survival, this is not just an issue of European security, this is putting our whole mankind order into question.
Today, Ukraine is fighting on behalf of the free world.
Soon we will celebrate the feast of the Giving of the Torah, which was received more than three thousand years ago, on Mount Sinai, when the G-d miraculously brought us out of Egypt, freed us from slavery and gave us the Torah. "Tania" book, which the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine published, teaches us how to get rid of internal slavery. I am sure that the book "Tania" will help Ukraine in the battle for justice, because every nation has the right to decide how to live, and no one has the right to set their own rules. This is the time when all the nations in the world must unite and live according to the requirements of the G-d. I wish everyone a blissful, happy Shavuot! Now we are approaching the time when Moshiach comes and gives us complete liberation, there will be peace on Earth, and all our energy and resources will be used for the sake of the prosperity of humankind”
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine - Rabbi Rafael Rutman explained how important it is to keep the commandments unquestioningly.
Now we see how easily a person can turn in the wrong direction, it happened with the Nazis and as it is happening right now. Therefore, everything that the G-d says must be observed.
Rabbi Mordechai Levenharts thanked the Mayor of Kyiv for supporting the Jewish people, for help in the organization of educational system and for protection of national minorities.
