Forced refugees of the Jewish community KEDEM in Germany were visited by Rabin and Rebetsen Vyshedsky

Rabin and Rebetsen Vyshedsky, in honor of the anniversary of the raising of the soul of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem-Mendel Schneersohn, who will be on the 3rd of Tamuz, told the forced refugees of the community in Germany, in the city of Bad Homburg. Some refugees have left since the 2014 war.

During the meeting, Rabin and Rebbetsen expressed special gratitude to Rabin Berl and Rebbetsen Mini Rabinovich, who carefully received members of the Jewish community of KEDEM in their community.

The meeting was held in a warm friendly atmosphere with continuous prayers for peace in Ukraine!

FJCU delivered food packages to Jewish communities of Kiev, Cherkasy, Balta, Lubny

In light of the rapidly evolving humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine continuously implements humanitarian program, sending crucial packages to Jewish families throughout Ukraine.

Packages include: food, bottled drinking water, a first aid kit with all the necessary medical supplies, personal hygiene products.

As the devastating conflict rages on, humanitarian needs are continuing to spike. The FJCU is always there, in times of crisis, delivering urgent, lifesaving care to Jewish seniors and families.

The European Jewish Association (EJA) holds its annual conference in Budapest

On June 20 - 21, the Intercontinental Hotel hosted the annual conference organized by the European Jewish Association (EJA). The conference was opened by the Chairman of the European Jewish Association - Rabbi Menachem Margolin and the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary - Mr. Zsolt Chemien. The Chairman of the Association of Jewish Communities of Hungary, Chief Rabbi Shlomo Koves, the Ambassador of Israel to Hungary, Mr. Yakov Hadas-Handelsman, and the Deputy Minister of the Interior of Greece, Mr. Stavros Kalafatis, were giving a speech at the plenary sessions.

Refugees from different cities had a special tour around Jewish places in Dnipro

A cultural tour showcased the Jewish community's traditions and heritage. 

They Visited Golden Rose Choral Synagogue, built in 1800, where the visitors learned the history and spiritual heritage of “Touray Zahav” and the centuries-old cultural traditions of the Jewish people. 

In the historic building of the Menorah Center’s architectural ensemble, visitors were amazed at the beauty of the house of a merchant of the first guild David Pchyolkin that dates back to the end of the XIX century and tasteful decor of the Renaissance epoch.

Odessa Jewish school “Chabad-Or Avner”opened a summer camp “Jsummer universal”

The Jewish school "Chabad-Or Avner" in Odessa, which is dislocated in Berlin now, has opened a summer camp Jsummer universal at JFuture. Participants of the summer camp are pupils from the 1st to the 11th grade.  Camp has an outstanding educational program, where campers can learn about Jewish traditions at a high level, while also traveling, having fun and developing in an environment full of friends.

One Woman’s Story of Escaping — and Surviving — the Bombing of Kharkiv, Ukraine

Yana was born in Ukraine, and has Jewish roots, her family cherishes and honors the memory of their origin and knows all of the relatives up to five generations back. 

Her life was completely amazing until 24th of February, 4:50 in the morning, she was  awakened by the sound of an exploding shell, followed by the sound of anti-aircraft defense.

Students "Bayt leBanim-Mironova" Dnipro continue their acquaintance with the holy places of The land of Israel

Students who are currently in the Holy Land, together with the students of the Beit Lubavitch Yeshiva in Safed, went on a special trip to the sacred places and graves of the righteous, this time to Galilee.

On the first round of the tour boys visited the graves of the sages, the founders of the Talmud - Rabbi Abai, the head of the yeshiva in Pumbedita; Rabbi Abba Khilkiy, a tannaist sage, and his grandfather Khoni Ha-Meagel, a teacher of the law and a famous wonderworker.

Women's club "Havera" in the Shostka Jewish community has resumed work

The meeting was dedicated to the World Donor Day.  The word “donor” comes from the Latin word "donate" - voluntary donation of blood.

 There are 3 honorary donors in the Shostka Jewish community: Krasnaya Faina Grigorievna, Ozerova Natalya Ivanovna, Trosman Elena Isakovna. Storytellers shared their stories about donation and how it saves lives. 

 Katsman Sergey, Acting Chairman of the community, congratulated the donors and presented them with sweet souvenirs. The meeting ended up with a tea party and discussions about the importance of unity and mutual help and support during this difficult time.

Jewish primary school “Ohr Avner Chabad” in Odessa works everywhere anytime

Classes are held online on Zoom platform for Ohr Avner Chabad elementary school students, who are now scattered all around the world. 

Offline classes program just started in Berlin. 

 Students continue studying both online and offline and pray that soon they will be able to renew their learning process together in Odessa.

Zaporozhye Jewish Community Center "Mazal Tov" has been very active in area of implementing Jewish traditions

The highlight of the past two weeks was the festive marathon “From Lag B'Omer to Shavuot”.  Each of the clubs was able to gather its participants at solemn meetings, prepare for the holiday and celebrate the Day of the Giving of the Torah according to all traditions.

 Numerous culinary and creative workshops were organized. Children and their parents were cooking fruit kebabs in chocolate with matzo, milk cakes, made tablets with 10 commandments, took part in origami classes. Kids learned the history of the holiday and its main traditions. Ice cream party and traditional reading of the 10 commandments were held in the Central Choral Synagogue of Frankfurt “West End”.

Jewish families throughout Ukraine keep receiving humanitarian assistance

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine delivered humanitarian aid packages to the Jewish communities of Irpin, Vinnitsya, Zhitomiy, Uzhgorod, Horishni Plavni, Yagotin, Skvira, Gostomel, Ivankiv

Packages include: food, bottled drinking water, a first aid kit with all the necessary medical supplies, personal hygiene products.

The FJCU program of humanitarian relief is designed to respond immediately with life-saving help and supplies, and then stay long term to support families in need.

Shavuot 5782 at the Resettlement Camp in Hungary

The Day of the Giving of the Torah is the most important event in the history of the Jewish people.

On the eve of the holiday, more than 200 immigrants from Ukraine gathered in a camp near the picturesque Lake Balaton to celebrate Shavuot - the holiday of the giving of the Torah.

The holiday was celebrated according to all traditions: reading the 10 Commandments, prayers and, of course, dairy meals.

Children got acquainted with the history of the holiday at creative workshops, each child received treats in the form of a Torah scroll.

How Jewish communities celebrated Shavuot 5782

The Shavuot celebration for the refugees of the KEDEM community was held in Israel. Shavuot is the best time to go outside, to enjoy the lovely weather and participate in fun activities for the whole family, everybody had a great time, meeting with Rabbi Pinchas and Rebbetsen Dina Vyshedsky.

On 5 of June, 2022 (Sivan 6, 5782),  Jewish community of Kamianske gathered together at the Beit Baruch charity center and the Beit Reuven synagogue to celebrate the holiday of giving the Jewish people the Torah.

The book "Tania" was published in Kyiv

Facing a war crisis, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine decided to print the book "Taniya" in the very heart of Ukraine - Kyiv, on Independence Square.

Preparations for the festival of Shavuot in Jewish Communities

The Torah was given by G‑d to the Jewish people on Mount Sinai on Shavuot more than 3,300 years ago. Every year on the holiday of Shavuot we renew our acceptance of G-d’s gift, and G‑d “re-gives” the Torah. Shavuot reminds us to be thankful for G-d’s Word and to delight in it. As the Word is read, it should bring joy, sweetness and happiness. This is why we eat sweet dairy things on Shavuot.

Mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov Kharkiv visited synagogue

The mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov, came to visit Rabbi Moshe Moskovich and thanked him for the constant help that the Jewish community provides to the city. The mayor watched the process of preparing humanitarian aid food packages for Shavuot. The Jewish community of Kharkov was very touched by his visit, since with everything happening around, Mayor schedule is extremely tight. 

Mayor talked with cooks and volunteers, who work 24/7 helping to save lives. How Jewish communities celebrated Jerusalem Day

On 29th of May, Jewish Charitable Foundation "Hesed-Arye" prepared an interesting literary and musical program on the occasion of the holiday. The participants remembered numerous names of the city and quotes about it from the Torah and Talmud, the books of the prophets, went virtually to memorable places with Igor Guberman, learned the features of the quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem described by Dina Rubina, admired photographs of Jerusalem lions, and listened to the songs performed by Sheine Meidelach ensemble, among them are "Jerusalem of Gold" Naomi Shemerl’s eternal hit, an Israeli patriotic song "Kahol ve Lavan", and of course "Shalom, Jerusalem!".
