«Or Avner Chabad Lubavitch» Kindergarten in Chernihiv started working in a new format

Starting May 25, «Or Avner Chabad Lubavitch» Kindergarten organized

 two groups:

 - for toddlers and kids up to 6 years old

 - junior school (6-11 years old)

There are additional classes in mental arithmetic, English, eidetics, chess, physical training and art therapy to process the trauma of war by drawing. 

Juniors homework and attendance at online classes will be constantly monitored. 

Kindergarten provides transfer, three kosher balanced meals a day, healthy and safe environment to all its attendants. 

A number of security measures have been taken, including developing evacuation plans for all occasions. Storage and shelter areas are fully supplied with water and food.

The Jewish community of Olevsk received humanitarian aid from the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine

Members of the Jewish community of Olevsk, Zhytomyr region, received large packages with the necessary long-term storage food products. 

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine has launched the second round of a humanitarian program, sending crucial packages purchased at the expense of sponsors and patrons to Jewish families throughout Ukraine.

Packages of the second round of humanitarian assistance program include: food, bottled drinking water, a first aid kit with all the necessary medical supplies, personal hygiene products.

The FJCU is always there, in times of crisis, delivering urgent, lifesaving care to Jewish seniors and families.

The FJCU program of humanitarian relief is designed to respond immediately with life-saving help and supplies, and then stay long term to support families in need.

The Jewish community of Glukhov received humanitarian aid from the FJCU

Jewish Community of Vinnitsya received humanitarian аid from the FJCU

Members of the Jewish community of Vinnytsya received necessary food packages, which will be a huge support for every Jewish family during such a difficult time.

When war started, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine immediately sprung into action to respond to the humanitarian crisis, implementing special assistance programs.

More and more jewish families across Ukraine receive food packages from the FJCU

Volunteers team operate a 24/7 emergency hotline to respond to requests for help. 

Members of the Jewish communities of Priluki (Chernihiv region), Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kalush (Ivano-Frankivsk region), Bobrynets (Kirovograd region), Horishni Plavni (Poltava region) and Novogradovka village (Odessa region) received crucial food packages. 

While the invasion of Ukraine continues, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine is providing humanitarian support across the country, sending food packages to every jewish family.

Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky delivered a speech at the opening of the event "Protection of cultural herita

This was reported on the Facebook page of the Israeli Embassy in Ukraine.

 In the context of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, issues of protecting cultural heritage in the war zone arose, so Ukrainian cultural institutions are faced with the need to urgently restructure security protocols.

“The issue of protecting cultural heritage in the war zone is extremely relevant for Ukraine. I hope that this measure will allow Israeli experts to share their experience with Ukraine in the field of saving museum collections,” said Ambassador Brodsky.

Interreligious delegation begins solidarity mission to Kyiv

Following an appeal by the Mayor of Kyiv, a high-level delegation of world religious leaders is travelling to the Ukrainian capital today to bring their solidarity to Ukrainians and pray together for a just peace in Ukraine.

As war between Ukraine and Russia enters its fourth month, more than a dozen faith leaders from  the major world religions, including the Catholic Church, started a three-day solidarity visit to  Kyiv on Tuesday during which they  will  pray together for peace, distribute humanitarian aid and meet Ukrainian religious and political leaders. The high-level religious delegation travelled by bus from Warsaw  and will return to the Polish capital on May 26.

Ukrainian refugees who fled the war to Israel were given the right to work and extended their visas until June 30

The Interior Ministry announced Monday that it will automatically extend the tourist visas of Ukrainian citizens currently in Israel through June 30 and allow them to work.

Ukrainian nationals who were in Israel illegally when the war started will not be deported but won’t be allowed to work.

Since the beginning of war in Ukraine on February 24, more than 29,000 Ukrainians have entered Israel, including Jews, joining thousands who were already in the country when war broke out.

Memorial ceremony was held in honor of the victims of Natzy executions in the Pirogova Levada, 3 km away out of Pyriatyn

80 years ago, nearly three thousand people were killed in a single day – on April 6th, 1942, among them 1900 jews, 370 kids. 

On 18 of May, same year, 25 Jewish families were shot.

During the period of occupation, similar massacres occurred all over the city: on the territory of the hospital, in the park near the prison, in old cellars near the railway station.

Due to war time restrictions it was impossible to held a grand ceremony as it happened every year. Usually descendants of those who found eternal peace in the mass graves of Pirogova Levada come here every year from different parts of the world.

Rabbi Meir Stambler visited a refugee center in Warsaw

Chairman of the Board of the Federation of Jewish communities of Ukraine Rabbi Mayer Stambler, came to the refugee camp in Warsaw, organized by the FJCU, to support everyone who escaped from terrible war zones. The rabbi heard the harrowing stories of people who were forced to leave everything they had: their homes, their communities, their lives.

All present jews took part in the ceremony of putting on tefillin and reciting prayers.

Now all families are safe and taken care of. The team of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine provides all kinds of support, including food, medical assistance, psychological and spiritual help.

Jewish communities celebrated Lag B'Omer 5742

The Jewish community of Chernivtsi celebrated Lag B'Omer at the Solcenania Dolina Recreation Center, where they held a bright festive program, which included: the traditional Lag B'Omer parade, kosher delicacies and BBQ, archery, a Jewish bonfire and a "Jewish soul" orchestra.  Members of the Jewish community spent this day with great joy together with Jewish families who have been forcibly displaced from Kiev, Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Kramtorsk, Chernigov, Kherson, Berdychiv and other Ukrainian cities.

Jewish communities across Ukraine celebrated Lag Baomer 5782

LagbaOmer is the holiday of Jewish unity, and its symbolism is being widely felt by the thousands of Ukrainian Jews celebrating the day in and outside of Ukraine during the war. 

 Chabad-Or Avner kindergarten in Odessa celebrated Lag B'Omer with traditional dances around the fire, amusing games and delicious treats. 

 The Jewish community of Zhytomyr celebrated Lag B'Omer with fun competitions, games and gifts for the children.

In Dnipro, at the "Beit Levanot" girls' pension celebration started with a traditional bonfire.

The Jewish community of Vinnitsa held a glorious parade in honor of Lag Baomer holiday

A lot of Jewish children and adults came together for this this energetic street celebration, which included a parade, eadings, musical performances and games. 

Exciting workshops, horseback riding and archery made the holiday absolutely amusing for children.

Lag BaOmer celebration in refugee camps in Poland and Hungary

Thousand of families have been forced to flee their homes, carrying their children and whatever belongings, escaping from bombs and shelling. Many of them stayed in refugee camps, organized by FJCU. 

It is customary to shoot bows and arrows on Lag BaOmer, so in refugee center in Warsaw we organized arrow creating workshops for kids. Children had a lot of fun. Adults enjoyed their evening with traditional live music and dancing. 

A great bonfire took place in a refugee camp, located near Balaton lake. 

Hundreds of refugees gathered to say prayers and celebrate through the night.
