January 28, 2012 at the Jewish People's House, Chernivtsi region gathered all the Jews for what used to honor the memory of those who tragically died during the Holocaust. Was organized by the Jewish community of the city and Chernovtsy Jewish school № 41. In the hall of the Jewish national home together who knows first hand the terrible war, when Jews were murdered without trial, simply because they were Jewish.
The rally was attended by Governor of Chernivtsi region MM Papiyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of MI Gaynicheru, Deputy Mayor O.E.Paskar, representatives of all Jewish organizations in Chernivtsi region, the Chief Rabbi of Chernovtsy region MM Glitsenschteyn and Chief Rabbi of Chernovtsy region Noah Kofmansky, students, parents and teachers of the school № 41.
Meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Jewish community of Chernovtsy region Leo Kleiman. In his speech, he stressed that the most important thing in such meetings, and such activities - is to remind the younger generation of the terrible war years and prevent such violence.
Chernivtsi region governor Mikhail Papiyev said in his speech that these activities help to bring nations inhabiting the Bukovina. He noted that the regional administration is doing everything to prevent the emergence of xenophobia and anti-Semitism. In light of recent events in some parts of the Chernivtsi region, where there were anti-Semitic leaflets, head of the regional administration said that such phenomena are alien to our society and law enforcement authorities in such cases act decisively, preventing such phenomena.
Chairman of the Regional Council of People's Deputies, MI Gaynicheru in his speech reiterated the importance of such activities, and noted that the regional council will continue to support the Jewish community in the area and a Jewish school in such activities - because they are essential to properly understand our past and present. "We have to open the terrible truth about the Holocaust, so that such a tragedy never happens again anywhere else, because there is no genocide against someone always genocide against all," said M. Gaynicheru. Chief Rabbis of Chernivtsi region, read a memorial prayer for the victims of those terrible days.
Of particular interest was present in the literary and musical composition and a multimedia presentation that will prepare students and teachers of the Jewish school № 41 on "Children of the Holocaust." Children's stories about the life and suffering of the Jewish people in the ghettos and concentration camps caused many tears. The head of the Association of Ghetto Joseph Badger, in turn, shared his memories of those terrible hours.
