Shmuel Kaminetsky
Chief Rabbi of the city of Dnipro and Dnepropetrovsk region

 

Born in Kfar Chabad, Israel in 1965 after his parents came there from the Soviet Union due to religious persecution in 1946.

Until the age of 13, he studied at Khedera in Kfar Chabad. From the age of 13 to 16 he studied at the Yeshiva in Lod.

In 1981 he came to the USA to study with the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Graduated from Rabbinical College of America in Morris Town, New Jersey.

He continued his education and taught the Rebbe's Messengers at the Yeshiva in New Haven, Connecticut.

He then taught at Rabbinical College of America. 

In 1988, he received a rabbinical title from Yeshiva (Eastern Parkway 770).

In 1989 he married Khana Lipsker.

In 1990, the Lubavitcher Rebbe sent Rabbi Shmuel and Khana Kaminetsky to the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk as his envoys.

Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky was elected chief rabbi of Dnepropetrovsk and the Dnepropetrovsk region, chairman of the board of the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community. Rabbi Shmuel and Khana Kaminetsky have six daughters and three sons.
