The month of Tishrei is a continuous holiday. Holidays such as Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah make this month a wonderful never-ending event in the Jewish calendar, during which Jews around the world pray and get ready for the beginning of the new year, humbling themselves before G-d, talking about the miracles of the past and honoring traditions and the Torah.
This year was no exception. The Jews of Ukraine honored their history and traditions by fulfilling all the commandments of this cycle of holidays.
Members of Jewish communities in different cities of Ukraine received their festive kits as part of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine
"Tishrei in every home" program, which is dedicated to the holidays of the month of Tishrei.
Traditionally, the kits contained everything necessary for the celebration of the New Year and other holidays of the month:
• Tehillim in Ukrainian
• Calendar for 5785
• Magnets with holiday dates and candle-lighting times
• Shabbat candles, kippah, honey, and zubrowka
• Household essentials and personal care items
• Exclusive shopping bag
The federation has sent
over 51,000 kits to
over 270 locations across the country.
Printed materials
As far as the mission of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine goes, one of the most important goals is to provide Jews with all the visual aids to enable them to live as Jews in accordance with tradition. Therefore, the Federation regularly provides them with various printed materials about all Jewish holidays and traditions. The Federation has published a Jewish calendar in several formats and a pamphlet specifically for these holidays.
