“May every male be circumcised. Cut the flesh of your foreskin. And it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you. Eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male child. The soul of someone who does not cut the edge of the flesh of his relationship breaks with his people, he hath broken my covenant”

Genesis, 17:10-14

Every father should fulfill this requirement of the Torah and circumcise his son on the eighth day after birth. The ritual of circumcision in Hebrew is called Brit Milah (covenant of circumcision). It isdone by a qualified specialist, an expert on the Torah and the medical aspects of the procedure.

Circumcision is not a tribute to the ancestors or the law which the Jews observe for thousands yers. And it's not that the Brit Milah is considered useful to the hygienic and medical points of view (though it is so), but primarily in that it marks the everlasting covenant between G‑d and the Jewish people.

The Brit Yosef Yitzchak organization (named after the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe - Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson), headquartered in Israel, has been successfully operating throughout the world. After three years of specialized training in the Israeli hospital and receiving a diploma of mohel in January 1998 Jacob Gaysinovich was sent to Ukraine. Thus, in the CIS he was the second messenger of the Brit Yosef Yitzchak organization (the first - his counterpart in Moscow, Russia chief mohel Shai Shafit). And for two and a half years of work in Ukraine only in one of Donetsk region Yaakov Gaysinovich has done hundreds of circumcisions.

Needless to say, that in due to the prohibition of the operation in the Soviet years a number of Jews had circumcision done being alreadyold, but far outnumbered are those who are circumcised on the eighth day from birth.

The operation of circumcision is done safe and painless, performed under local anesthesia eliminating the presence of pain with the most advanced special equipment. Moel performing the operation is accompanied by a physician overseeing the patient. It remains to add that the operation is carried out only under the condition that the mother of a child (or adult) is Jewish and it is free.
