Regional spiritual association of Jewish communities in Donbass

The association was established in 1999. It coordinates the activities of Jewish communities in 15 cities the Donbass region. Donetsk Regional Jewish Community finances local communities, organizes trips to the celebrations in Donetsk, holds regular seminars for chairmen of Communities as well as trips to visit the Donetsk synagogue and other Jewish institutions and places.

In the local towns the community organizes:

• Shabbat, Jewish holidays and important dates;
• Seminars and Jewish camps in Donbass region;
• Organising prayers for the health and welfare, as well as funeral prayers;
• Assistance in Jewish funerals;
• Delivery of the attributes of Jewish life (objects of worship and celebration rituals);
• Concern about the safety of memorial places related to the Holocaust and Jewish cemeteries;
• Help for Jewish organizations of the city.
