Community activities.

The current construction:

• Multifunctional Jewish Community Center of small Jewish communities of Central and Western Ukraine

Completed constructions: 

• Restoration of the synagogue in Drohobych, Lviv region
• The Playground Social Rehabilitation Center complex

The Playground Social Rehabilitation Center.

In 2006 in the resort area of Zhitomir the Jewish community of Zhitomir established the The Playground Social and Rehabilitation Center for Jewish children - orphans, children with one parent and children from poor families.

The Playground is composed of several units intended for 80 persons (separately for children of preschool and school age). At present the The Playground harbours 41 children.

Children live in excellent conditions, receive secondary education in Or Avner high school, study Hebrew and traditions of Jews, have private lessons and extra lessons in school subjects.

The Jewish community is arranging holidays, helps conduct Jewish life and cultural and educational activities, leads STARS Youth Program, publishes the Jewish Zhytomyr Newspaper, has Women's Club, Kollel for men, Wedding (Hupa), arranges Circumcision (Brit Mila), Bar Mitzvah and Shabbat meals.
