In Lugansk children received their letters in Torah.

The "My letter in the Torah"certificates delivery turned into a large, noisy celebration. Children of the most remote corners of the Lugansk region attended the event. The Lubavitcher Rebbe wants every Jewish child to buy a letter in the Torah.Each of the letters is a part of the code on which G-d builds the world.These letters are bound to the souls of Jews.And the fact that children received their letters on the eve of Rosh-ha-Shanah makes it more symbolic.

ORT schools in Moldova impress Israeli Foreign Minister.

The Israeli government has shown its appreciation for World ORT’s operations in the Former Soviet Union with a high level ministerial visit to two ORT schools in Moldova in the beginning of the new school year.

Israeli Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who was accompanied by an Israeli delegation that included the chair of the Knesset Subcommittee on Immigrant Absorption, Lia Shemtov, the deputy mayors of Nahariya and Migdal Ha’Emek, and ministerial staff, visited both the ORT Rambam School and the ORT Herzl Technology Lyceum in Kishinev, the Minister’s birthplace.

Safety is serious.

Traditionaly September is the month of safety in the Ohr Menachem school of Nikolayev. In the beginning of the school year teachers remind the children of traffic rules and their importance and usage of electric and gas appliances. Poisonous mushrooms and plants were not left without attention. The organizers used visual aids for the students to memorize so much information and make the process fun.

The students of the second, third and fourth grades met with the representatives of the Oblenergo Nikolayev state enterprise (the state electric networks owner) who told them about the hazard of electricity. Newcomers of Beit Chana, Dnepropetrovsk.

This year brought new girls to the family of Beit Chana. They came from different cities and towns: Genichesk, Krivoy Rog, Svetlovodsk, Kremenchug, Znamenka, Khar’kov, Zelenodol’sk and Poltava. Among them are the 5 girls who will study according to the 9th form programme in the Humanitarian College of the Beit Chana International Humanitarian Pedagogical Institute. They are actually still children and are difficult to begin their studying in another city away from their homes and parents. Almost every one of them have to join the forgotten and lost traditions of Yiddishkeit and explore them as something completely new. A new academic year in Beit-Chana, Dnepropetrovsk.

On September 1 Beit-Chana opened its doors for its students in the new status of the International Humanitarian Pedagogical Institute.A new 2011-2012 school year has begun!
